Who Is the Imposter? Spy game

Secret word

A free impostor game with friends

Friends sit together. Most of them receive the same secret word. One player is the impostor and never sees it. You give spoken clues, try to sound like you belong, and the group votes on who is bluffing.

What each person is trying to do

A regular player knows the word and has to show that without making it obvious. The impostor listens, tries to work the word out, and has to blend in. Everyone else is trying to find the person who never saw it.

The app’s example word is Park. Trees, green, relax, and walk are useful clues. Car, computer, and phone miss it or give it away. The impostor hears the good clues and tries to add one that fits.

One phone around the table

The screen shows your name and a covered word. Hold to reveal. Regular players see the secret word. The impostor sees the impostor role and does not learn the word. Let go before you pass the phone. The word is gone as soon as you release.

There is no room code and no second device. For a typical group of three to six, the game suggests one impostor. Larger groups can use two or three, and those impostors are not told about each other.

How the round ends

A player who knows the word speaks first, and that name is shown to the group. Then you vote for one person. If that person is an impostor, the players win. If that person knew the word, the impostors win. Saying the word out loud is not a separate score.

How to play walks through the setup. The rules are the short version you can hand to someone who missed it. Play free if the phone is already on the table.
